Will Smith is probably the most famous and successful musician turned actor. He started out as a rapper in the late 1980′s with his duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. He then made the jump to TV with his hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Smith then went on to act in huge blockbusters such as Independence Day, Ali, and The Pursuit of Happyness.

Some people may not even know about Mark Wahlberg’s hip hop past. He was the rapping frontman for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. He’s gone on to be in huge blockbusters such as The Departed, The Fighter, and Ted

Barbra Streisand had already released hit songs before her first acting break in Funny Girl. Streisand was always meant to be a entertainment icon. She has won two Academy Awards, eight Grammy Awards, five Emmy Awards including one Daytime Emmy, a Special Tony Award, an American Film Institute award, a Kennedy Center Honors award, and a Peabody Award.

#4 Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was a member of the hugely successful boy band ‘N Sync in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s. After the group split here continued his music career as a solo artist. Timberlake then made the jump into acting. He’s appeared in hits such as The Social Network and Bad Teacher.

Jennifer Hudson got her first break as a contestant on the singing competition American Idol. She took her powerful voice onto the big screen and has found success in the acting world as well. She’s stared in Dreamgirls and The Secret Life of Bees.

Cher started out in the music industry as a part of the duo Sonny & Cher. After the group split she went on to have much musical success. She’s stared on TV shows, and multiple movies. Some of her biggest roles being Moonstruck and Mermaids.

Beyoncé has been slaying the music scene since her early days in Destiny’s Child. She’s had immense solo music success as well. She decided to take a shot at acting, and we were all a little nervous to see if she could perform. She’s stared in movies such as The Fighting Temptations and Dreamgirls.

Queen Latifah started out as a hip hop master in late 1980′s. She’s released seven albums, and is well respected in the music world. She first made big waves in the acting world with 1996′s Set It Off. She’s appeared in blockbusters such as Chicago and Bringing Down The House.
